New Zealand trio L.A WOMEN ignited their career with the independently released debut single ‘Hurricane Love’, fast attracting the attention of Island Records and building an impressive fan base off the back of one track.

L.A WOMEN are cousins Jake Schdroski and Zac Emerson and friend Jesse Brown, who met at preschool, where they quickly became inseparable. Hailing from Wairarapa, a town in the deep-south of New Zealand and with little to entertain themselves with, they began playing music together at the age of seven. After playing in a variety of school bands, the trio formed L.A WOMEN in 2016 and released their debut ‘Hurricane Love’ the following year. It hit the internet to critical acclaim and entered some of the most reputable playlists on Spotify including their NMF, Indie Mixtape, Chilled Afternoon, and Indie Pop playlists.

The DIY roll-out continued with the singles ‘Count It Up’ featuring New Zealand’s fastest growing electronic act SACHI, and ‘Call on Me,’ demonstrating the downtempo side of their repertoire. News of the much hyped trio soon reached Island Records, who swiftly signed the promising new act.

With the legendary label now behind them, and an album in the works the band are set to release their major label debut ‘Conscience’ on August 31st with their debut EP to follow on shortly after on September 7th.
